I will miss the easyness of flip flops tee shirts and bathing suits. I hate layers of slothes and hats scarves and mittens, especially when I can only find one of each and no matches.

ReplyDeleteThe first thing I will miss (am missing) about summer, is the GREEN! We only have about three months of actual SUMMER summer up here, before things start turning to fall colors, so I definitely miss the green trees, green lawns, etc....sometimes, you can just smell the green in the air!
ReplyDeleteMostly I will miss the farmers' market on the weekends, the fresh fruit and veggies, delicious smelling herbs, the flowers, the crafts, the music, samples from some of the local wineries...(farmers' markets are a big deal up here!)
But, there's always Christmas to look forward to!!!

ReplyDeleteMy husband is 30 years my senior. I met him when I was 26 years old and he was 56. We fell in love and married and have been together for 24 years. Next month, my husband turns 80 years old. During summer months, I love to make iced tea and sit under the gazebo with him. This encourages him to share stories of his childhood, which I've heard a million times before, but, love to hear them again and laugh as if it were the first time. I will miss long sunny days filled with laughter, old stories, and making memories.

The main thing I will miss about summer is sitting out on the deck or walking with my husband and granddaughter and just enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Living in southwestern PA, the winters are sometimes pretty cold and snowy, but we are always outside no matter what!
