Apple Crisp
1 can apple pie filling
11/2 tsp cinnamon, divided
3/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. old fashioned oats
1/3 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 375. In a 9x9 baking dish, spread pie filling evenly in bottom. Sprinkle w/ 1/2 tsp cinnamon. In a large bowl mix flour, brown sugar, oats, butter, nutmeg and remaining cinnamon. Mix until crumbly. Add in walnuts and mix well. Sprinkle over pie filling. Bake 35 minutes or until brown and bubbly. Serve warm w/ vanilla ice cream and caramel topping if desired.

ReplyDeleteI bet your house smells fabulous when you make this! If I had apple pie filling in the house, I think I'd make it tonight...although...I have a can of cherry pie filling....hmmm...I might try that out.
