So Simple, So Tasty Day 1 {Tastefully Simple Review & Giveaway}

I am so incredibly lucky to have such wonderful foodie friends through this blog, Twitter, and of course Facebook. These fellow food enthusiasts are always there when I ask question, favor, or in many cases, to team up w/ me to bring my fantastic fans great giveaways! When I approached my friend, and Tastefully Simple Consultant, Theresa about joining me in bringing Tastefully Simple products to EMM, she jumped at the chance and was so kind to allow me to choose (2) products to try, cook w/ in my kitchen, and then giveaway to one lucky fan! Have you tried Tastefully Simple products before? Well, I have and I love them. You've even seen one used here before, in my Mulled Wassail. "Tastefully Simple is a dynamic direct sales company based in Alexandria, Minnesota. We offer a wide selection of convenient, easy-to-prepare foods designed to help people spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying the rest of their lives."~ From TastefullySimple.com

After much browsing (and drooling!!) through their product line, the (2) I chose to try were Fiesta Party Dip Mix and Bayou Bourbon Glaze. Both of these are very versatile, can be used separately, or even be combined in certain dishes and I knew I would find many uses for each in my kitchen. And one of the best things about Tastefully Simple? They offer recipe suggestions for their products right on their website! That's exactly how I found both the recipes I tried (Be sure to come back tomorrow to see what I made w/ the glaze!!). I knew this first one would be perfect for our at home New Year's Eve celebration. Adam loves spicy things, and if they aren't too spicy, Alex and I do too. Theresa was kind enough to tell me that Tastefully Simple products are made to develop in flavor as they sit, and in this case heat level. And I'm so happy she did b/c after setting awhile I discovered it needed to be cooled down a little w/ extra sour cream. In reality, it would have been perfect for Adam, and anyone else who loves a little "kick", but for Alex's (and my) sake, I chose to tame it a little. If you are lucky enough to win this prize package, this would be a great addition to any party table!

Fiesta Party Dip
2-3 TBS Fiesta Party Dip Mix
15 oz. can corn, drained
1/2 c. mayo
1/2 c. sour cream
8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
2 chopped green onions, extra for garnish

Combine all ingredients. Chill for 2 hours. Adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish w/ extra onions. Serve w/ tortilla chips and/or crackers.

  18. Years ago I picked up a pot roast seasoning packet at a craft fair, made by Tastefully Simple. I never did use it, we moved shortly after and it broke in the box. Box smelled good though. cupcakesforcutie at gmail dot com
